The national security view of the Song Dynasty, a central view of “Middle Kingdom” and a security view of defense, is a holistic view of national security which is closely related to the surrounding minority nationalities. The stability and destruction of the tributary system are inseparable from the domestic security of the Song Dynasty. The opening up policy implemented by the late Northern Song Dynasty and the rising of Jurchen people in north China lead to the great changes of the ordering in East Asia community. The wrong countermeasures in Huizong period (1100-1126 A.D.) eventually brought about the disintegration of the tributary system, the destruction of the North Song Dynasty (960-1127 A.D.) and the domestic security crisis in the early period of Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279 A.D.). Being subsumed in the tributary system of the Jin Dynasty is one of the important reasons for the stability of the Southern Song Dynasty. The ordering constructed by the tributary system has much to do with the security of all countries within the system.
