During the day, he met with the officials of China’s Ming dynasty, such as Lin Zhenchao and Chen Pingshan, who helped him escape to Fujian, China. During his stay in Fujian for more than three months, Lu talked with local scholars about Confucian classics and deepened the exchanges between them, which promoted the mutual understandings of Confucianism in the two countries and enhanced the coordination and development of both sides. The vivid and profound exchanges of Confucian culture reflect the important value of cultural exchange between China and the Korean Peninsula beyond the national level (the messenger and the capital). In contrast, Chaotian Record and Yanxing Record, noting down the cultural exchanges between China and the ancient Korea, are mostly at the national level, and their official characteristics are extremely strong. As an exiled Confucian scholar, Lu’s journey to China promotes the local and non-governmental cultural exchanges. Because of its large degree of freedom, it involves deeper levels. At the same time, there are few records of such activities.
