Yu’s conscious definition of the concepts of “Westernization” and “Modernization” together with the value and embedded wisdom of his theory should be affirmed at the moment. However, there is still a lack of the current literary scholars’ due in-depth study, attention and inquiry about the theme orientation, idea guidance and spatial radiation of Yu’s new poetry with both Chinese and Western influences. The focus should be upon how to discuss the inner system of Yu’s theories on new poetry, identify Yu Guangzhong in the modern world of new poetry creation, and clarify the internal academic system of new Chinese literature spirit. Based on this focus, the author analyzes Yu’s new poetic theories with unique thinking, revealing his profound interpretation of the complete language through which the loss of historical and cultural consciousness can be traced. The paper will be developed from the three levels of Yu’s theory: First, “how to transform tradition into modernity”; Second, how to understand “Westernization” and “Modernization” in Chinese literary works;
