The image was scattered in her novels, essays and screenplays, and was integrated into Nanyang stories, Nanyang characters, as well as customs and ideas of overseas Chinese in Nanyang. Writing the South Seas involves both the religion and the art of Nanyang; it is a mixture of not only the Nanyang customs but also the Nanyang culture.
