The historical imagination involved has also attracted high academic attention. As one of the clues in the novel, the Chinese diet helped with a keen insight in the outlining of the times, the characterization of human nature and the reflection on traditional culture. Taking it as a starting point, one can explore the path of the evolution and development of human history.
