In order to win the recognition, trust and respect of people in the countries along the route, and then to promote interactions of multilevel and multichannel between China and these countries, it is necessary to excavate the heritage resources of the Maritime Silk Road, sort out the cultural heritage, provide nutrients for the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” of Guangdong, and play a leading role of culture. Therefore, Guangdong needs to create corresponding cultural innovation zones and databases, build an international cultural tourism brand of the Maritime Silk Road, encourage the media communication and cooperation between Guangdong and other countries along the route, give full play to the role of colleges and universities in cultural exchange. Apart from these, Guangdong should also mobilize active participation of overseas Chinese along the line, and cooperate with the related national departments.
