The socialist criminal procedure rule of law with Chinese characteristics has achieved extraordinary achievements. After the promulgation of the Criminal Procedure Law in 1979, it was revised three times in 1996, 2012, and 2018. Based on the purpose of criminal procedure, the value of criminal procedure, the structure of criminal procedure and the culture of criminal procedure, two groups of relationship are considered equally important, which are criminal punishment and human rights protection, procedural justice and substantive justice.
