The First Front Army slammed its full force against the Cantonese Army led by Chen Jitang. The battle was intense and both sides suffered heavy casualties, which were rarely seen during the Second Domestic Revolutionary War. Due to the fact that the Guangdong Army cautiously conducted military deployment and undertook a last-ditch resistance, the Red Army failed to effectively summon its superior army strength with inaccurate information received. Therefore, the Red Army did not meet its expectation and many lessons were left to learn.
