Han Shaogong started the trend and has been devoted to this thought, and the “root-seeking” dilemma in his rural-themed literary creation strongly reflects the contradiction between the countryside and modernity. On one hand, it is because his modern imagination on rural culture itself is tinted with self-contradictory anti-modernism, resulting in discourse conflicts. On the other hand, through writing, he explores a more natural and original rural world. From the perspective of “natural history” proposed by Adorno, this writing on original rural world is a transcendent rural natural history.
