From the vertical perspective, Teochew people's charity showed different development characteristics in different historical stages, and the period of the Republic of China was more prosperous than that of the late Qing Dynasty. From the horizontal perspective, Teochew People's charity can be divided into two parts: the traditional charity which focuses on the relief of the living and the burial of the dead, and the social public welfare which focuses on education, medical and public construction. In terms of the geographical scope of Teochew People's charity, it covers three regions, namely Chaoshan region, Nanyang area, and other regions in China.
