Fan's annotations replaced Huang's and became the new paradigm of annotations of Wenxindiaolong. This position was gradually established in process of scholars' continuous correction and the author's sedulous revision. Since the publication of The Annotations of Wenxindiaolong, various supplements and corrections have been made throughout the twentieth century, forming a brilliant academic landscape. They have not only corrected many fallacies and enriched the book, but also left a precious academic legacy for later generations, which is of great significance in academic history. With the criticism, correction and selfless dedication of scholars in the academic circle, the author revised and improved his work one after another. This process also witnessed the study on Wenxindiaolong changing from traditional to modern, which was marked by the publication, revision and reprint of The Annotations of Wenxindiaolong, and completed by a group of scholars who engaged in correcting, complementing, and editing the book.
