Among the numerous banning orders in the Qing Dynasty, the first was the ban on operas during national funerals, which had a high level of formulation, a long duration, a wide range of coverage and severe punishment. Therefore, it had a profound impact on actors' lives and the opera ecology. In order to eliminate the negative impact of the ban during national funerals, actors and opera operators took active measures to address it, while local officials banned operas according to the law also gave actors appropriate flexibility to perform operas out of sympathy, thus easing the survival crisis brought by the ban to actors and opera industry to a certain extent.
