The energy level, as a comprehensive concept covering economy, potential, and environment, further enriches the connotation of network and provides a standing point for the high-quality development of tourism. Taking Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as an example, this paper improves the comprehensive evaluation index system of urban tourism level, calculates the urban tourism level index of 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018, and uses the improved gravity model to form the relationship data-urban tourism level connection. On this basis, social network analysis method is used to explore the characteristics of network structure, and multiple linear regression model is used to analyze the effect of individual network structure. It has found that under the long-standing influence of Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao and Shenzhen's leading the tourism network pattern and radiating other cities, Dongguan and other cities have gradually shown a certain diffusion effect, and the diffusion effect of the overall network is greater than the agglomeration effect. The situation of “dominance” in the network is weakening, and the competitive advantage of cities in the west bank of the Pearl River has improved. There is an obvious core-periphery structure, showing a “same level matching” mode of small group cooperation. Urban tourism agglomeration and diffusion ability, control and dependence ability, urban tourism industry status, foreign direct investment, and tourism factor flow positively affect the level of urban tourism energy linkage, while the number of neighboring cities has a negative impact. It reveals that the polarization-trickle-down effect still works at the “global” level including economy, potential, and environment, and confirms the non-geographical proximity of inter-city links in the network in the field of tourism. In other words, cities without proximity will also have interactive connections in today's globalization and informatization, and even subvert the traditional network pattern through this interactive connection.
