If so, how will the above issue come into being? Both are of great social significance. Existing studies often focus on exploring whether there is a link between housing and fertility, while the influence mechanism has received little attention. This study introduces social fairness perception and subjective well-being as mediating variables, and then uses the data obtained from a questionnaire survey of 323 young people in Chongqing City to construct a structural equation model to test the influence path of house purchasing pressure on fertility anxiety. The results show that in addition to direct effects on fertility anxiety, house purchasing pressure can also indirectly affect fertility anxiety through the two paths of “house purchasing pressure→subjective well-being→fertility anxiety” and “house purchasing pressure→social fairness perception→subjective well-being→fertility anxiety”. Finally, this study gives some policy suggestions on how to reduce the youth's house purchasing pressure and fertility anxiety, and how to improve their social fairness perception and subjective well-being.
