His theoretical exploration of the method of literary appreciation is of the transcultural meaning and under the contemporary circumstance, which aims at an academic dialogue between the ancient and the modern, as well as China and the West all along. Zhu has a good taste of Chinese and Western civilizations, together with philosophical, psychological, aesthetic, semantic, Buddhist as well as critical theories and methods. By finding clues of life taste, textual semantics and poetic circumstance successively, Zhu goes through three stages, that is, philosophical dilemma, linguist new realm and historical consummation.
