The results show that the development of digital finance can essentially promote the upgrading of industrial structure, and it is also found that the using depth of digital finance has an inverted U-shaped relationship with the upgrading of industrial structure. Through heterogeneity analysis, it is found that the promoting effect of digital finance on industrial structure upgrading depends on regional characteristics; From the perspective of the path mechanism, digital finance can promote industrial structure upgrading on the “supply side” by strengthening enterprise technology innovation. Digital finance can push back the upgrading of industrial structure on the “demand side” by raising the consumption level and stimulating consumption upgrade. Further analysis shows that reasonable effective government regulation is also the key to realizing the development of digital finance and the upgrading of industrial structure. At the same time, it is also found that the development of digital finance in China can alleviate the Baumol's disease.
