In order to realize rural revitalization, it is necessary to stimulate the internal impetus and standardize the behavior and activities of the first secretary of the village by system means. Based on the role theory, this paper constructs the analytical framework of role cognition, role responsibility, role conversion, role promotion and role withdrawal, and discusses the system of the first secretary of the village in rural revitalization based on multiple cases. By studying, we find that the system of the first secretary of the village in rural revitalization is the continuation, reform and development of the system of the first secretary of the village in poverty alleviation, with the aim to continue to make up for the lack of social leadership in rural areas, and safeguard the interests of villagers by means of external embedding, Party building guidance and resource integration, so as to better promote rural revitalization. Although it retains the essence of the original system in poverty alleviation, there are many institutional obstacles, such as unclear role cognition, overloaded role responsibility, difficult role conversion, ambiguous role promotion and obstructed role withdrawal.
